Respond When You Are Ready
If you have talked to us for any length of time, you know that when we find ourselves in challenging situations and relationships, we are big on taking time to let our charged reactions, or in Nonviolent Communication terms our Jackal Language, subside BEFORE we share our truth with others.
What Does Happiness Look Like for You Today?
The problem is, when happiness is our destination, we can very easily – and most of us DO – continually move the goalposts: We keep adding to our list of I’ll-be-happy-whens and concentrate more often on our many reasons why, “I can’t be happy because . . .”
The Difficult Things to Hear
Whether in our professional or personal lives, most of us have experienced coming to a crossroads - where we must choose between honoring our own boundaries and values or choosing against ourselves.
Are You A . . .
Whatever your profession or role in life, we know that our communication class starting tomorrow evening will benefit how you interact with the important people in your life. There is still time to join us – and we encourage you to do so either in person in our Yellow Room or via Zoom.
There Will Never Be Another Moment Like This One
Yesterday was Book Club Sunday for us - and it truly was a beautiful day! As we waited for our book club participants to arrive, we had our office door open to the lovely view outside. The trees are all changing color, the grass is still green at Sherwood Park across the street, and there were so many families, couples, and friends out enjoying the day.
Clear Communication BASICS Begins October 26th!
Over our eight weeks together, you will learn each of the four components of Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication and how to use them in your life. In addition, by the end of our time together, you will understand how to give and receive empathy, and how to listen wholeheartedly.
Your Hero’s Journey
The truth is, we are all on our own hero’s journey – and life is about facing and overcoming the different obstacles on our unique paths. There is no way around our struggles and no easy path. If we want to find our authenticity, and ultimately peace, the only way runs through our pain and difficulties.
To All Our Wonderful Clients
Today, we would like to express our appreciation for the hard work and vulnerability YOU ALL put into your coaching each and every day, week in and week out.
Some Thoughts About Social Media
Today, we want to talk about social media. One aspect of social media that is very concerning to us is how it affects children and young adults. Children and young adults are not the only ones affected by social media, though. Plenty of adults are as well.
Letting Go of Advice Giving
Giving advice to one another is something many of us do without really thinking. Yet, giving advice to someone who has not asked for it can cause a lot of problems.
Join Us Next Week
Just a quick reminder that we have two exciting courses coming up next week (ACIM and Know Your Boundaries), and we would love for you to join us!

Practice Practicing Patience
In our ever-changing, fast-paced world, time and time again, we will meet people who do not know what we know, have not experienced what we have experienced, and are newcomers to what is for us already part of our knowledge base. At first, in this situation, it may be shocking that someone does not know what we know, especially when we have possessed this knowledge for a long time.
New Healthy Boundaries Workshop Starts Tuesday, September 14!
For six weeks, beginning Tuesday, September 14th, at 6PM, we will share with you everything we have learned in our search for boundaries. This course is very important to us because we have learned that healthy boundaries are ESSENTIAL for creating loving, authentic relationships.
Loving Ourselves When Things End
When you experience an ending, make sure to give yourself the support you need, which may include reaching out to a coach or counselor.
Consideration Matters
Luckily all my worries came to a screeching halt when my phone rang this morning. Here was our beloved hygienist, calling US to express HER gratitude and appreciation for our years together. We had a lovely conversation, and it was very satisfying to be able to share together, exchange contact information, and make plans to meet again away from the dental office.
Three Gems Before You Speak
So much hurt and pain is caused in our world, communities, and homes because people don’t think before they speak. So even though we may feel frustrated, disheartened, or angry, it is wise to take some time before we engage with others to calm down and respond instead of reacting.
The Importance of Rest
Last week, we took the week off. Well . . . not completely off. We worked two days instead of five – and it was wonderful. Ada completed a long-awaited painting project, and Annette caught up on some chores and reading. We both had time to rest as well.
July 2021 Vlog
This month we are continuing our It’s Okay If theme we started in our June Vlog. Here we discuss that it is definitely okay to need help.
